SPD is a neurophysiologic condition where a person’s senses poorly detect, modulate or interpret stimulus. A child with SPD perceives sensory information (smells, sights, sounds, touch) different than most people. It is a complex condition that looks different in every person that has it. Samantha Offutt Hyali, MS, OTR/L, owner of Children at Play will explain SPD, what it is, how to diagnosis it, and how to treat it in children. There will be a 10 minute Q&A session after her presentation.
